Vogalonga in Venice 2019

Our Vogalonga adventure.

What a weekend of paddling, sunshine, Italian food, catching up with international Pink friends and many, many bridges. Nine Vienna Pink Dragons, one partner and three international guests paddled in a combined boat with the Conny’s Dinomites. Our President, Svenja, together with her husband, was on child minding duty on land so that Felix could steer for us.  The Vienna Pink Dragons were justifiably proud of their achievement, paddling 34 km (Tronchetto-Venice-Murano-Burano-Venice-Tronchetto). For many, this was their first Pink event and most had never paddled more than 9km in one session.

Despite one incident of running aground, the challenge of launching the boat at Tronchetto and the mayhem of the first bridge in the Cannaregio canal, the Pink Paddlers enjoyed their day and paddled strongly all the way to the end.
